The University of Leicester, De Montfort University and the City of Leicester are proudly home to an incredibly diverse student population which includes many Black students. A large part of settling into a new town is being able to find amenities and services that can help you feel like part of the community and the sooner students can feel settled, the better experience they have in their new living situation.\u00a0The better their\u00a0initial\u00a0experience, the more likely they are to continue their journey further into Higher Education and research.\u00a0

To help Black students settle into Leicester as soon as possible, the University of Leicester and De Montfort’s Students’ Union have collaborated on a\u00a0Black Students’ Guide to Leicester<\/a>,\u00a0which has been funded by LIAS through\u00a0the Leicester,\u00a0Leicestershire\u00a0and Rutland scheme.\u00a0The guide provides\u00a0students with peer-recommended and reviewed businesses and services such as grocery shops, hairdressers and barbers, and community groups,\u00a0to help\u00a0Black students find them when they first arrive in our\u00a0City.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
